Renee and I used to do a lot of hikes when we first moved out to Denver. Nothing impressive, just one moderate trail on the weekend. She would always pack a lunch and bring too much water that I would have to haul in our daypack. We always came back with at least one untouched bottle.
She loved to check out the mountain flowers and spent a lot of time examining each new discovery. I only wanted to take photos at the top and didn't appreciate the hike itself, at least not like Renee did.
Today, I am taking Henry for a hike. I'm bringing plenty of water and I'm not going to rush to the top.
